The author, Lynn Hubschman, has over thirty years experience working with transgendered individuals and their families.

She was Director of Social Work at the oldest hospital in America; Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Transsexual surgery has been performed there since the surgery’s inception in the United States. She has written numerous articles, and presented papers at conferences and wrote, “Hospital Social Work Practice.”

In addition she regularly appears on many national talk programs about this topic. Mrs. Hubschman has been in a private counseling practice dealing primarily with marriage and family concerns for over thirty years. She is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and its graduate school of Social Work
