Helpful Insights To Understanding Transsexualism in Families, March 13, 2001, Amazon.com
Reviewer: Samuel Gilbert from California

Lynn Hubschman provides an open forum for discussion of transsexualism by providing the reader with honest and sincere coming out letters and responses by family members and transsexuals. Handled with candor and genuineness, this book takes on a mind of its own. It provides the reader with helpful information, a human struggle of aligning the body with the mind, soul, and heart on the path toward wholeness. It also shows the frustrations and challenges the family faces in not conforming to society and its linear western values and thinking. This book is a perfect accompaniment to the must read Mildred Brown book, True Selves. These two books go hand in hand. Awareness and becoming ones true self thus is possible. This is a must read. This book also provides medical, legal, and other resources in the latter half of the book. This will also help the transsexual himself or herself, in the coming out process, and even provide a sense of understanding that this is a gender awareness issue and not one of sexual orientation. This Awareness of difference, will provide society toward education, toward discussion, and hopefully one day acceptance, and tolerance of those different than mainstream society.Kudos to Lynn Hubschman for providing an open discussion of the human side of a hidden subject: transsexualism. A book that will touch your heart, your mind, and make you question what gender truly is and means.
